Not every home is suited for solar power.
Solar Panels perform at optimum capacity when placed in direct sunlight. Ideally, solar panels will need to be positioned as directly as possible under the noontime sun for maximum efficiency from your photovoltaic unit.
Also, qualifying homes must have a south facing exposure, and minimal shading. In our experience, only 1 in 15 homes are ideal for Solar Electric Generation. As you can see from the photo to the right, these houses are optimally positioned to soak up the sun!
In order to benefit from solar power your house must have:
- Large, flat rear roof area
- E, SE, S, SW or W facing
- Few or no obstructions such as chimneys, dormers, etc.
- Little or no shading
